Over the next few weeks, kids from across our community will be heading back to class. Most of us remember having some first-day jitters and being anxious about new teachers, new schedules, etc., but excited to show off our new backpacks, shoes, or new superhero notebook. Anyone else recall breaking open that new box of crayons on the first day? If you were lucky enough to land the big box of 64 with the sharpener in the back, that was a big deal! Simple pleasures and fond memories, for sure. Sadly, far too many kids in our community have to return to school without any school supplies – let alone new ones. It is a real issue for thousands of area families. Our team at Certified Radon is committed to helping these kids in need, and we invite you to join us.
Certified Radon is partnering with local, Kansas City-area nonprofit, Community Services League (CSL) to support their backpack drive. Each year, CSL provides students in need with backpacks filled with school supplies to help them start the year off right and succeed in the classroom. In 2015, CSL distributed more than 10,000 backpacks to kids in our community. In addition to school supplies, CSL donors also provide new shoes, personal hygiene items, and food to families in need.
During the month of August, Certified Radon will give a 20% discount on testing or mitigation services when you make a donation of at least $10 or donate a new backpack, school supplies, or personal hygiene items to Community Services League. Our Certified Radon Technicians will be collecting donations in the field or you can drop off donations at our office at 5150 NW Waukomis, Kansas City, MO, Mon-Fri from 8a-4p.
